How do I nominate an artist or organization?
Nomination is simple. Please see the Nomination Package here for a complete description of the items that are required for the submission, complete the Nomination Form, and ensure that the person or organization you are nominating completes the Nominee Agreement Form. Your submission must be delivered or e-mailed to the Saskatchewan Arts Board no later than 4:30 p.m. on June 30, 2016.
How do you define a professional artist?
Professional artists have completed basic training in their discipline (through formal training or mentorships, as appropriate), have a body of work that has received critical recognition and are recognized as professionals by their peers.
Do I need to tell the nominee I am nominating him/her?
Yes. Nominators must ensure that nominees complete and sign the Nominee Agreement Form, and that the Agreement is included in the submission.
How are the awards adjudicated?
Before nominations are assessed, Saskatchewan Arts Board staff review them to confirm that eligibility and technical requirements have been satisfied. An independent panel of jurors with appropriate knowledge and experience assess the eligible nomination submissions for each award through a competitive process based on the adjudication criteria specific to each award category. The panel establishes a short-list of nominees for each award and selects the recipient. The adjudication criteria for each award are available in the Nomination Package here.
Can I make a partial nomination submission with the details to come later?
No. Only complete nomination packages submitted in the proper format and received by the deadline are eligible for consideration.
Do you accept nominations postmarked by the deadline?
